Frugal Summer Fun Series: Friday Dance Party

Around here, music and dancing is an every day occurrence so a dance party isn’t really a unique idea – but maybe that’s not the case for you! Nothing breaks up a boring day like a spontaneous dance party!

Dance Party Ideas:

  • Use Pandora to look up your favorite family-friendly artists and create a station that will get you moving. Move everything out of the room and show your kids what it’s like to dance like no one (except your kids) is watching! Not sure where to start? Here are a few stations we like to dance to: Crazy Frog, The Wiggles, TobyMac, Bubblegum Oldies and Summer BBQ Music
  • Look up some fun videos on YouTube and dance along! My kids love doing Jill Mcclure’s Zumba videos haha (just be careful of which song you choose if you’re cautious about lyrics. We like Moves Like Jagger and Thriller the best!)
  • Make a playlist in your iTunes or Amazon Music Player, load it onto your phone and bring the dance party outside! Maybe even put the sprinkler on and make it a water dance party
  • Find free local music by visiting some community event calendars and make a night of music and dancing as a family or with friends
  • If you have one, load up a dance based video game and get the kids involved

Get up, get down, dance all around! It’s a fun, free, family-friendly way to make some great summer memories!

And while you’re here, make sure to check out my hubbie’s newest set – it’ll get you moving! (We like skipping to 27 minutes in when he’s really grooving hehe)
